Postal Code Lookup Service added to the How'd They Vote API
2010-02-24 9:54 pmNew calls have been added to the How'd They Vote API, providing support for third-party tools and websites to offer "Find Your MP" and "Find Your Riding" services (see FindMember and FindRiding). This service was created by combining the freely available GeoGratis Federal Electoral Districts data with proprietary postal code data.
Examples are available, showing how to embed the lookup in a server-side PHP call.
5-year Open Budget Released
2010-02-21 10:28 pmHow'd They Vote has released its open budget, which includes a summary of donations and expenses for the previous 5 years.
The net balance for the 5 year period amounted to a loss of roughly $1,500. Donations met 25% of the costs associated with running the website.
